Returns, Refunds & Exchanges

At SJ’s Booktique, every order is carefully curated, packaged, and prepared with care. Due to the personalized and surprise nature of many of our products, certain items are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.

Final Sale Items

The following items are considered final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund unless they arrive damaged, defective, or incorrect:

  • Blind Date with a Book experiences
  • Curated book bundles
  • Personalized or customized items
  • Self-care and personal care products
  • Opened or used items
  • Sale or clearance items
  • Gift cards

Customers acknowledge that receiving a surprise book is part of the intended Blind Date with a Book experience. While preferences may be provided, SJ’s Booktique cannot guarantee that a specific title, author, trope, theme, or book selection will be included unless expressly stated in the product listing.

Duplicate Book Policy

SJ’s Booktique is not responsible for duplicate titles already owned by the customer.

Customers are encouraged to provide information regarding books they already own, have read, or wish to avoid when placing an order. Duplicate titles are not considered damaged, defective, or incorrect products and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund.

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Orders

If your order arrives damaged, defective, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery at sjsbooktique@gmail.com.

Please include:

Your order number

A description of the issue

Clear photographs of the item(s) and packaging

If approved, SJ’s Booktique may, at its sole discretion:

  • Send a replacement item
  • Issue store credit
  • Provide a partial refund
  • Provide a full refund

Order Cancellations

Orders may be canceled within 24 hours of purchase, provided processing has not begun.

Once an order has entered the fulfillment, packaging, or shipping process, it can no longer be canceled.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at checkout.

Please allow 5–10 business days for your financial institution to process and post the refund after it has been issued.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Return Shipping

If a return is approved, customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is the result of our error or a damaged, defective, or incorrect item.
